This time I came to Yuexiu, Guangzhou for business, and I temporarily chose Fu Gang Hotel Guangzhou. Originally, I only thought it was close to Xiaobei Subway Station and convenient to travel. After staying, I realized that this economy hotel located in the old city area has achieved the most practical accommodation experience.
It takes eight minutes to walk from Exit B of the subway to the hotel downstairs. Pushing open the glass door, the front desk staff immediately stood up and greeted me. The check-in process takes less than three minutes, and they specifically reminded me that hotels in Guangzhou no longer proactively provide disposable toothbrushes, combs, and other daily necessities. If needed, please call the internal phone at the front desk at any time to collect them. The details are particularly thoughtful. I booked a standard 20 square meter big bed room, and when I opened the door, the first impression was that it was spacious and bright, without the cramped feeling commonly seen in economy hotels. The bed was neatly made, and the program-controlled telephone, free wired broadband, and fully covered wireless network were all arranged properly. Even the small desk by the window was spotless, and there was more than enough room to put a computer and carry personal documents.
The most surprising thing is the location of the hotel, which happens to be at the intersection of Huanshi Road and Luhu Road, perfectly balancing the hustle and bustle with tranquility. A few steps downstairs is a bustling commercial street, which is particularly convenient for eating and buying daily necessities. Walking north for five minutes, you can touch the edge of the Luhu Scenic Area, surrounded by the greenery of Baiyun Mountain to the north. Pushing open the window, you can smell the faint fragrance of plants and trees, and there is no sound of traffic noise on the main road. In the evening after finishing my work, I took a half-hour walk around to the edge of Luhu Lake, blowing the lake breeze and returning home. Most of my exhaustion dissipated.
The intimate experience in the details during these two days of stay is particularly touching. The 24-hour front desk is always on duty. I came back after midnight and wanted to have some hot water. I called and within two minutes, the staff delivered the hot water to the door. The public area is monitored throughout the entire process, and I feel particularly at ease when I go out alone to stroll through the night market at night and walk in the hallway when I come back. The large luggage I carried with me can be stored at the front desk for free after check-out, and I spent most of the day wandering around the area with light luggage, without having to drag my luggage back and forth. The free parking lot provided by the hotel is even more convenient for self driving guests, as they don't have to struggle to find paid parking spaces in the narrow alleys of Yuexiu's old city area, saving a lot of trouble.
Of course, it is not without flaws. As an old hotel that has been open for many years, some facilities may not be particularly trendy, without fancy smart guest controls or luxurious self-service restaurants. However, it has firmly met the most essential needs of accommodation - clean beds, quiet environment, reliable service, and an excellent location to find peace amidst the hustle and bustle.
The biggest feeling after staying for two days is that many hotels are competing for popular designs and high-end configurations, but they forget that what guests really want is a solid accommodation experience. Fu Gang Hotel Guangzhou doesn't have any extra fancy decorations, but it puts the "comfortable stay" into every small detail. Next time I come to Yuexiu to visit Luhu and the surrounding business district, I will definitely make this my first choice.Show more
